I had a great time in Colorado at the 2006 US Junior Figure Skating Championships!
It was the first time I had ever taken a plane. I sat by the window and watched as we flew over the clouds. Once I arrived in Westminster and saw the Rocky Mountains, I was amazed by the sight. They were the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen. I got to spend time with my friends from all over the country including Daniel, Mariah, and California coaches, LaRhonda Scott and Atoy Wilson. Unfortunately, during the week of competition, I got very sick with a stomach virus but I didn't want to give up after working so hard all year. I went to every practice session, fought through it, and gave it my best effort. I competed in the qualifying round and came in 7th, just missing the cut-off for final round by one placement. I was disappointed because I knew I could do so much better but sometimes things don't work out the way you planned. Both failures and successes are part of the sport. I did enjoy skating and watching my fellow competitors. It was a great learning experience. I know that I am in a good position competitively for next year and I am ready to get back to my training after a brief period of rest. I hope you enjoy these pictures from my skating program!
